The Saint Louis University Museum of Art will host its monthly brown bag lunch session from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the first floor classroom of SLUMA.
Join SLUMA curator Katie Wang, for a one-hour art and yoga session. Participants will receive 35 Vitality points. Jennifer Dykeman and Kimberly Spearmon will lead the session.
For the first 25 minutes, Spearmon, a yoga instructor, will move participants through the basic Ashtanga poses to help integrate mind and body awareness through linking breath and movement. Following yoga, the group will participate in watercolor painting for 20 minutes (supplies will be provided). The workshop combines movement connected to breath with the expressive medium of painting in order to enhance the creative experience. The last 10 minutes will be reserved to talk through the process and discuss the experience as a group.
Register online for the event. Attendees are welcome to bring a lunch. Refreshments will be provided.
