Geologic, Architectural Bike Tour

Event Details: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., October 19, Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, 3716 Washington Boulevard

As part of a partnership between The St. Louis Beacon, St. Louis Public Radio and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, John Encarnacion, Ph.D., will team up with doctoral student Garrecht Metzger and historian Michael Allen to explain the complex intersections between the geologic and architectural histories of St. Louis.

The tour will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, starting at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts, 3716 Washington Boulevard. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m.

Encarnacion is an associate professor of geology with expertise in tectonics, mineral deposits, and the origins of igneous and metamorphic rocks

This event is part of "Field Notes: Celebrate Science and Art in Grand Center," a weekend of programs and exhibits that explore the interactions between the built environment and natural world.
