The Department of English will host a faculty colloquium from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in room 142 of Adorjan Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
Georgia Johnston, Ph.D., will present "Bestial Moralities and Modernist Story Telling for Djuna Barnes."
Johnston, a professor in the Department of English, works with sexuality and textuality as they connect with early 20th century literatures. In her previous book she argues that modernist lesbian autobiographers contest theories of women's development, as it was hypothesized in the fields of sexology and psychoanalysis. This presentation emerges from her current book on "Ethnographic Theft."
