Saint Louis University will be holding its second Dance Marathon from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Wool Ballroom in Busch Student Center.
Dance Marathon is the culminating event for a year-long effort to fundraise for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis, which is equally distributed to St. Louis Children's Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
Registration for undergraduate and graduate students to participate is available online until the day of the event. For donation, volunteer and visiting information, visit the Dance Marathon website. Faculty and staff are invited to the faculty/staff reception at 4 p.m. during the event. For additional information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
SLU's Dance Marathon supports the famous slogan "we stand for those who can't," by having participants stand for the 12 hours of the main event as an act of solidarity for the children treated by the hospitals. During those 12 hours, students will learn a choreographed dance, play games, listen to entertainment acts, and interact with the Miracle kids and families who have been treated at the local hospitals.
More than 550 students have registered for the second annual event and more than 10 Miracle kids and their families plan to attend the event. Each have a chance to speak to the dancers.
