The Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics will present the 2011 Bander Endowed Lecture at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Pitlyk Auditorium in the Learning Resources Center.
Bernard Lo, M.D., will present "Partnerships Between Academic Health Centers and Industry: Opportunities, Challenges, and Pitfalls" as part of the Department of Internal Medicine's Grand Rounds.
Lo is a professor of medicine and director of the Medical Ethics Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He chaired the 2009 Institute of Medicine (IOM) committee that produced the report "Conflict of Interest in Medical Research, Education, and Practice."
Lo is also the author of Resolving Ethical Dilemmas: A Guide for Clinicians (4th ed., 2010) and of Ethical Issues in Clinical Research (2010).
Lectures are approved for 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 creditTM. All are welcome to attend.
