Neuro@Noon, SLU's Neuroscience Journal Club, will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 5, in the large Pharm/Phys conference room of Schwitalla Hall (southwest corner of the third floor, M360).

Jill D. Waring, Ph.D., a cognitive and affective neuroscientist (Psychology) will present a very recent Journal of Neuroscience paper using fMRI signals to show that sleep deprivation alters emotional reactivity by triggering enhanced processing of stimuli regarded previously as neutral.

The article is titled "Losing Neutrality: The Neural Basis of Impaired Emotional Control without Sleep."

This interdepartmental journal club is affiliated with the Center for Neuroscience of Saint Louis University.

During the 2015-16 academic year, the club will meet on the first Thursday of each month.
