Neurology and Psychiatry Joint Grand Rounds will be held at 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in Lecture Hall 1 in Schwitalla Hall. Jeffrey Gfeller, Ph.D., and P. Tyler Roskos, Ph.D., will present "Using Neuropsychological Tests and Neuroimaging Techniques to Detect Sequelae of TBI And PTSD in Military Veterans."

Gfeller received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Ohio University in 1986, and then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in behavioral medicine and clinical neuropsychology at Saint Louis University's School of Medicine in 1987.

Gfeller has been a faculty member at SLU for approximately 25 years, having first served as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry for five years, where he directed a neuropsychology service. He has been in the Department of Psychology for the past 20 years and at present is professor and chair within the department. His clinical and research interests include the neurocognitive effects of traumatic brain injury, normal and pathological cognitive changes with aging, and detecting inadequate test effort and biased symptom reporting.

Roskos completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at SLU in 2007. He completed an internship in clinical psychology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Ill. and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

He joined the faculty in the Department of Surgery at SLU in 2009 and has been appointed as the research director for the recently established Department of Neurosurgery. In this role, Roskos oversees funded and clinical research programs and mentors medical and graduate students on research projects. Roskos is also a board certified clinical neuropsychologist and sees patients for evaluation and treatment of neuro-cognitive and neuro-behavioral issues in the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry. His clinical and research interests generally include traumatic brain injury, neuro-rehabilitation, learning disorders and ADHD, and pre-and post-neurosurgical cognitive evaluation.
