ST. LOUIS - The Institute for Private Business at Saint Louis University's Center for Entrepreneurship continues its fall seminar series presented by Brown Smith Wallace, "Leadership Strategies for Private Business: A Barrel Full of (Silver) Dollars," Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Shanahan Atrium at the University's John Cook School of Business, 3674 Lindell Blvd.
Guest speakers include Herschend Family Entertainment (HFE) co-founder Peter Herschend and President/CEO Joel Manby. The company owns, operates and manages 26 themed entertainment properties in 10 states, including Missouri's Silver Dollar City and the Dixie Stampede and Tennessee's Dollywood.
The event begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed at 8:15 a.m. by Manby's keynote presentation, "What's Love Got to Do With It?"
From 9:30-10:30 a.m., Herschend will take part in the panel discussion, "Perspectives on Family Business."

About Joel Manby: Manby is President and CEO of HFE. During his tenure, two of the companies theme parks have earned the industry's highest honor. The success is attributed to the company's unique leadership approach. In March 2010, Manby was featured on the CBS show "Undercover Boss."
About Peter Herschend: Co-founder of HFE, Herschend has devoted his professional life to the family business, serving as executive vice president of marketing and vice chairman. Known as a champion of tourism, he is credited with helping set the direction of tourism policy at the state and federal levels.
