Discover how prescription drug misuse and abuse became the leading cause of accidental death in the United States and solutions to improving this public health crisis.
The lecture, titled "Prescription Drug Abuse: Curbing the Epidemic," will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the first floor auditorium (room 1411) of Salus Center.
Presenters include will Sgt. Mark Whitson, of the St. Louis County Police Department's Drug Enforcement Taskforce, and Jared Opsal, public awareness specialist with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse-St. Louis Area.
This event is open to students, faculty and the general public, and is sponsored by the College for Public Health and Social Justice and School of Medicine, the St. Louis County Police Department, Drug Enforcement Taskforce, and the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse-St. Louis Area.
