Christopher Morris, from the University of Colorado at Boulder, will give a talk titled "The Social Life of an African Medicine: Umckaloabo's Transnational Entanglements Since 1897" at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in room 211 of McGannon Hall. This event is open to the all faculty, staff and students.

Morris is a candidate for the open position of assistant professor of anthropology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology.

Morris' research and teaching interests include political and medical anthropology; globalization; labor; human rights; pharmaceuticals; the socioeconomic determinants of health; ethnicity; environmental politics; southern Africa.
