The next Responsible Conduct of Research workshop of the semester, titled "Conflicts of Interest," will be held 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, in rooms 110 and 111 of the Learning Resources Center. It will include a panel of faculty members representing different disciplines and areas of expertise on the topic, and aims to be both educational and engaging.

Other workshops scheduled this semester include:

  • Patenting and Ownership, 9-11 a.m. Friday, April 5, in Boileau Hall
  • Human Subjects, noon to 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, at a location yet to be determined
  • Mentoring, 1-3 p.m. Monday, April 29, at a location yet to be determined

The National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) have established training requirements in Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) for programs supporting research training, career development, or research education. At least eight hours of face-to-face RCR and completion of RCR CITI training is required for undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows who receive support through any NSF or NIH funds. This training should be completed by the end of one's program. In order to meet this requirement, Saint Louis University will provide a series of workshops throughout the year for individuals to attend.

In order to confer credit for attendance, RSVP to RCR@slu.edu. There will also be a sign-in sheet at the workshop.

For more information about the requirements, visit the RCR website, email RCR@slu.edu or call 314-977-7047.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
