'Funding Your St. Louis Start-Up' Workshop

Event Details: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., March 24, John and Lucy Cook Hall, Anheuser-Busch Auditorium, 3674 Lindell Blvd, Rm. 050, Lower Level, St. Louis, MO, 63108

Saint Louis University's Billiken Angels Network (BAN) will host "Funding Your St. Louis Start-Up" from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 24, in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium at SLU's John Cook School of Business, 3674 Lindell Blvd.

The free BAN workshop helps start-up entrepreneurs think about new or different sources for funding, learn more about the types of financing available and what those providing funding are looking for in candidates.

The promise this workshop has made over the years is that everyone will walk away with at  least 10 new places to look for money, and audience response has proven this to be the case. Types of funding covered include angel investment, the 3 F's (friends, family and "folk"), government grants, tax credits, banks, microloan programs and crowdfunding. Sources in
Missouri and Illinois are covered and includes ample time for questions.

The speaker is Dr. Jerome Katz, who is often called the "Godfather of St. Louis Startups." Katz is also the founder and director of the Billiken Angels Network, and the head of SLU's nationally-ranked entrepreneurship program.

The workshop is free and open to the public, however seating is limited and registration is required. Preference will be given to entrepreneurs with business plans done or in process. Click here to register.

For further information or questions, contact Jeanne Rhodes in the Center for Entrepreneurship at (314) 977-3850 or rhodesja@slu.edu.

About the Billiken Angels Network
The Billiken Angels' tag line is "...the deals that make a difference" and that is the goal of the BAN -- to identify and invest funds and expertise in those businesses that can make a difference in the economy of the St. Louis region, and in the lives of the people living in the region and elsewhere. The BAN will consider businesses at any stage (seed, start-up, existing, growing, etc.) and in any industry (retail, wholesale, manufacturing, service, financial, internet, high-tech, etc.). Visit www.billikenangels.com for more information.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
