Mike EppsComedian Mike Epps will perform at Chaifetz Arena at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

After impressing Ice Cube at a stand-up show, the Indianapolis native made his breakthrough on the silver screen playing Day-Day, an anxious character stalked by his obsessive ex and her younger sister in the films Next Friday and Friday After Next. Epps appeared as Black Doug, a drug dealer, in the movie The Hangover and will return for The Hangover 3. He recently took a more serious role as comedian and drug kingpin Satin Struthers in Whitney Houston's final film, Sparkle.

Epps' natural comedic ability was encouraged at an early age, and he began performing standup as a teenager. His satirical act combines social commentary with stories from his childhood and has described as raunchy yet brutally honest. Epps began his professional career with "Def Comedy Jam" in 1995 and his one-hour comedy special, "Inappropriate Behavior" aired on HBO in 2007 and was one of the network's top-rated one-hour specials of the year.

Along with his acting and comedic careers, Epps has dabbled in the recording industry, appearing in Westside Connection's music video, "Gangsta Nation." He also had a role in Hurricane Chris' "A Bay Bay" and has a song called "Big Girls" that was originally recorded by Bow Wow and featured Young Joc.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
