Psi Chi Lecture

Event Details: 7:00 p.m., April 16, John and Lucy Cook Hall, 3674 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, MO, 63108

Darcia Narvaez, Ph.D., professor of psychology and senior assistant provost for Faculty Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, will present "Parenting, Neurobiology and Moral Wisdom" at the annual Psi Chi Lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium in John and Lucy Cook Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

Narvaez has discovered that with the "Walmart-ization" of childrearing, parents are encouraged to neglect their infant's needs with "cry-it-out" sleep training, infant formula, little touch or play. The result is handicapped brain development and morally-split selves that easily downshift into reptilian ethics.
