Sustainable Agriculture Lecture

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics will host a presentation, cosponsored by EarthDance Farms, by permaculturist Mark Shepard, the author of the best-selling book Restoration Agriculture. The lecture will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 25, in room 1043 of the Allied Health Professions Building.

Shepard is the CEO of Forest Agriculture Enterprises and runs New Forest Farm, a 106-acre perennial agriculture forest considered by many to be one of the most ambitious sustainable agriculture projects in the United States.

This free introduction to farm-scale permaculture from internationally renowned permaculturist farmer will have attenees inspired and ready to plant perennial crops on their land.
