The neurology division Grand Rounds session will be held in the SLU School of Medicine, 1402 So. Grand, Schwitalla Hall, lecture hall 1. The entrance is through the Learning Resource Center, 3544 Caroline Mall.
Sean Goretzke, M.D., will present "Updates on Concussions in Athletes." Goretzke, assistant professor of neurology and psychiatry, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1992. He graduated in 1997 from Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
After completing his residency in pediatrics at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Va., he served as a general pediatrician for the Navy for four years. He then went on to complete his fellowship in child neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2007, and returned to Saint Louis University as a pediatric neurologist in 2010 after spending three years in a similar position with the navy.
Goretzke is the director of the third year medical student clerkship in neurology for the medical school.
The psychiatry division will host grand rounds in Monteleone Hall at 1438 So. Grand Blvd., Basement Level, Classroom A.
Psychiatry residents will be the featured speakers. The joint presentation, "Neuropsychiatric Aspects of AIDS," will be given by third year resident, Moses Tabe Ambilichu, M.D., and by Dawit Weldemichael, M.D., fourth year resident.
