The Department of Neurology will present Grand Rounds from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday, June 30, in the SLU School of Medicine (1402 So. Grand Blvd.), Schwitalla Hall, Lecture Hall 1 (first floor).
Jeroen Coppens, M.D., will present "Surgical Management of ICH".
Coppens is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University. He completed medical school in Belgium followed by neurosurgery residency at SLU. Coppens further completed a skull base and vascular neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Utah with William Couldwell, M.D., prior to joining the SLU faculty in 2009. He also served as chief of neurosurgery at the John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis from 2009 to 2013. Coppens has extensive interests in the fields of cerebrovascular neurosurgery, skull base neurosurgery, including endoscopic skull base surgery, and intracranial hemorrhage. He has published peer-reviewed papers as well as textbook chapters in skull base and vascular neurosurgery.
