The department of neurology and psychiatry will host Joint Grand Rounds from 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the School of Medicine Entrance is only through the Learning Resource Center (LRC).
Florian Thomas, M.D., M.A., Ph.D., will give a joint presentation for both divisions of the department of neurology and psychiatry about "Spinal Cord Emergencies."
Thomas is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine by the American Board of Rehabilitation Medicine and Psychiatry. He is professor of neurology and psychiatry and an associate professor of molecular virology and microbiology and immunology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
He also is associate chief of staff at St. Louis VA Medical Center and serves as the director of multidisciplinary National MS Society-affiliated Multiple Sclerosis Centers at SLU and the St. Louis VA Hospital. He is also the director of the Spinal Cord Injury/Dysfunction Service at the St.Louis VA Hospital.
