Since 2009, the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) and the Office of Research Development and Services (ORDS) have co-hosted Opportunities for Networking and Exploration (ONE). This is a discussion series designed to provide opportunities for multidisciplinary collaborations within the SLU research and scholarly community.
These informal gatherings serve as forums for open discussion on topics of interest to faculty and researchers from a variety of disciplines, as well as community members. The formation of multi-disciplinary interest groups around topical areas can expand funding opportunities, as well as invigorate and inspire new directions in research, academic programs, and service projects.
Beginning in 2011/2012, the ONE discussion series will be held every other month. The first discussion on "Autism" is scheduled for 4 - 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Il Monastero, which is located at 3050 Olive (just east of Compton on the south side of the street). Free parking is available next to the building. Wine, soft drinks cheese and crackers will be served.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org, providing your name, e-mail, telephone, and your department.
In order for ONE to be beneficial for SLU faculty, we need to hear from you! Please take a few minutes to complete the very brief survey found here so that we can design discussions on topics that interest you, meet your research and programming needs, and connect you with the right colleagues and community partners. The remaining ONE discussion series for 2011/2012 will be scheduled after we have received your feedback.
Additional information will be posted in Newslink.
