Public Health WebinarEvent Details: 1:00 p.m., September 28
The Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness will be hosting a free webinar at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Erica Pan, M.D., and Shannon Limjuco, both of the San Francisco Department of Public Health, will present "Advanced Practice Center (APC) Preparedness Resources
and the Infectious Disease Emergency Response Toolkit."
This webinar will cover how to access free APC resources, introduce the Infectious Disease Emergency Response Toolkit, and explain how the IDER Toolkit may be used by local health departments to develop or supplement their infectious disease emergency response plans.
The San Francisco Department of Public Health is one of eight local health departments from across the country currently serving as an APC. The APC Program serves the public health community by developing free resources on a variety of public health emergency preparedness topics.
The San Francisco Bay Area APC developed the IDER Toolkit. The IDER Toolkit provides local health departments with a customizable infectious disease emergency response plan that integrates the key elements of communicable disease control and prevention with emergency management concepts.
The IDER Toolkit adapts ICS specifically to infectious disease emergencies, provides the level of detail necessary to plan and implement day-to-day emergency operations and integrates traditional public health functions with medical treatment and emergency medical services.
There is limited space available, so registration is required. Registration can be done online at the Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness web site.
