  • Develop plan for collecting and assessing artifacts of student work.

Summer 2013

Spring 2013

  • Campus-wide presentation for faculty and staff, Cultivating the Spirit: Contemporary Students and their Search for Meaning and Purpose, with Alexander and Helen Astin.
  • Campus-wide workshop for faculty and staff, Deepening Student Learning: A Workshop on Critical Reflection, with Patti Clayton.
  • Continued conversations with campus stakeholders about the final, adopted University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes.

Fall 2012

September:

  • Task force continued to obtain feedback from school/college leadership groups and Student Government Association.
  • Task force developed a third draft of the University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes based on feedback.
  • Draft three of the outcomes was disseminated to the University community for feedback.
October:
  • Open forum meetings and open review period for the third draft of the University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes.

November

  • Task force developed a final version of the outcomes, based on community feedback. More than 450 stakeholders provided feedback through open forum sessions, campus stakeholder meetings, and website.

December:

  • Endorsement of the University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes from UAAC and CADD, followed by formal approval by the President's Coordinating Council. Endorsements and approvals all unanimous.

Summer 2012

June:

  • Task force developed a second draft of the University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes, based on feedback.
  • Task force attended Association of American Colleges and Universities' Institute on General Education and Assessment, which assisted in revision of outcomes and early development of assessment rubrics.

July - August:

  • Task force obtained feedback about the second draft of the University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes from University entities, including school/college leadership groups (e.g., Arts and Sciences, John Cook School of Business, Doisy College of Health Sciences, School of Nursing).
  • Task force developed a website focused on University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes.

Spring 2012

March - April:

  • Task force developed initial draft of broadly-stated University-wide undergraduate student learning outcomes.

April - May:

  • Task force obtained feedback about the initial draft from University entities, including Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee (UAAC), Council of Academic Deans and Directors (CADD), Faculty Senate Executive Committee, Division of Student Development, and school/college leadership groups in Saint Louis (e.g., School of Public Health, Doisy College of Health Sciences, John Cook School of Business) and Madrid.
