What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
Be yourself and remember that your college search is about finding a school that is the best fit for you. It should be a fit academically, socially, environmentally and financially.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I have worked at Saint Louis University since the fall of 2011. I graduated from SLU in 2005. I began my career in college admissions working at other institutions before finding my way back to my alma mater.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
The college admission process is an exciting time for many students and families, but it can be full of anxiety for others. What I enjoy most about my work is that I get to share in the excitement of starting that first step toward the transition to adulthood, but I also get to help alleviate some of the anxiety that comes with it.

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
I love the grassy area in front of the John Cook School of Business between the steps of the clock tower and the Cupples House. When I was a student, it was my favorite spot to study, read or have lunch with friends between classes on a nice day.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
All of the students I work with are from out of state so when they visit campus they are also visiting the city of St. Louis, many for the first time. I always say if you are in St. Louis and you love Italian food, you've got to eat on the Hill. The Hill is the Italian neighborhood just a short drive from campus where you will find the most amazing Italian restaurants. My personal favorites are Zia's and Guido's.

What did you study as an undergraduate?
I majored in Communication and received a Certificate in Marketing.

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
I'm often asked why I chose to attend SLU. As a senior in high school, I remember feeling very unsure about what I was looking for in my college search. I didn't know what I wanted to study. I didn't know if I wanted a big school or small school. I felt attracted to an urban environment but the idea of being on a traditional college campus was also appealing. When I visited campus, I realized that SLU was the perfect blend of everything I needed. It could not have been a more perfect fit for me.
