What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
The college search process is a great time of self discovery. Start asking yourself what is important to you; What is your favorite class? How do you learn the best? What size school is comfortable for you? Besides a good education what is important to you in a college? When a student understands what is important to them in a college, they find the right fit.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I have been in College Admission for 27 years and 20 of them have been at SLU.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I work with students at a time in their life when they choose for themselves not only what they can become but who they want to become. The world is open to them with great choices and I get to be a part of that!

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
I love the pond near the Chaivetz arena. It is quiet, reflective and you do not feel like you are in a city.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
I tell any runners that you have to run in Forest Park! It is beautiful, scenic and you can run as many miles as you want! As for food, there are SO many choices in St. Louis; Zia's on the Hill, Pappy's, The Shaved Duck and Tonys.

What did you study as an undergraduate?
Communication and Vocal Performance.

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
Students and families always ask what it is about SLU that I like so much. My answer is easy! Besides being a top, academic institution, the community at SLU is one of the strongest I have seen. It is a place where who you become is just as important as what you become. Faculty and staff want you to learn to be leaders in the field and give you all the support you need to learn to do that. On top of that they want you to value your education and give back what you learn to those who can not receive what we do here.
