What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
The college search is all about finding the right fit! Experience each college you are interested in for yourself by visiting campus and putting yourself in the shoes of a current student. Establish a list of three non-negotiable characteristics of your ideal college and use those to shape your visit experience. There is the "perfect college" out there for everyone.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I started working at SLU in May 2010, immediately following my graduation.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
The best part about my job is introducing students to the transformative power of a Jesuit education at SLU. Whether its my own personal experiences or the experience of a current student, connecting prospective students to the pieces of SLU that most compliment their individual interests makes each day rewarding.

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
The atrium of Cook Hall. It is a great place to study, grab lunch, catch up with friends, or have a moment of self-reflection between classes and meetings.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
My favorite restaurant near campus is Pappy's. It offers a great taste of what STL style barbecue is all about. Get there early because when they run out of food, they close for the day!

What did you study as an undergraduate?
Political Science, International Studies, Italian, and French

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
When is the best time to visit campus?
If possible, I always recommend visiting campus twice. Once for an admission presentation and tour, and once after you have been admitted to SLU for a "Billiken for a Day" experience. You will find that you look at a college with a different lens once you know you are admitted and that it could actually be your home for the next four years. For both visits, it is best to come to campus when classes are in session. That will show you the true energy of campus life.
