What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
The best piece of advice I can give to students is step outside of your comfort zone, and explore all of your options! There are so many unique colleges and universities, and it is so important that you find the perfect fit for you. Visiting campus is one of the best ways to determine if that school is a good fit for you! Regarding the application process, it is important to stay organized, apply early, and stay in contact with your admission counselor!

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I started in September of 2013.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I enjoy working with students and sharing my SLU experience with them. It is so neat to get to know a student, their background, and their family!

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
I love the atrium in the John Cook School of Business. It is a great place to grab lunch, visit with friends and study!

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
I love walking around the Central West End neighborhood. It is a close walk from SLU, and there are so many unique restaurants to try!

What did you study as an undergraduate?
International Business and Spanish

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
Students always ask, "What is the required GPA to get into SLU?" The answer is that we take a holistic review approach and look at their entire application - transcript, essay, interview, resume, etc. We want to make sure we take all aspects of the student into consideration.
