What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
Visit the campus and do so while school is in session. There is no better way to learn about a university than actually spending time on campus and seeing what a day is like in the lives of the students.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I am a recent alumnus of SLU. I started working in the Office of Admission in my second year of college as a student ambassador and later as an intern with Graduate Admission. I started working as an undergraduate counselor in January of 2013.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I love to meet so many prospective students. The college search is an exciting time in person's life and it's great to be a part of it.

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
The east end of campus outside of the Chaifetz Arena. It's SLU's very own park complete with playing fields, walking paths, ponds, and fountains. I love that we have so much green space despite our location in Midtown St. Louis.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
Id have to say Busch Stadium. Cardinals games are a blast and St. Louis has the best fans in baseball.

What did you study as an undergraduate?
I have Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and History. I was also in the Honors College here at SLU.

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
A lot families ask why I chose SLU. My response has three parts. First, I knew I wanted to be in a city. There are so many things to do in St. Louis whether it be attending a concert, a Cardinals game, or just strolling through Forest Park. Second, I wanted to go to a medium-size school. Walking through campus everyday you always see people you know, but you don't know everyone you see. SLU was just the right size for me. Finally, I was blown away by the beauty of SLU's grounds. Visit campus on a sunny Spring day when the students are outside and the flowers are blooming and you'll find it hard not to fall in love.
