What advice would you offer to students during their college search and application processes?
It's never to early to start looking at colleges. Take time to visit campus while classes are in session to get a feel for student life. The same goes for the application process. The earlier you get everything completed, the more time you will have to take care of the details before classes start. This will make your acclimation process as smooth as possible.

How long have you worked as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
I have worked in admission at Saint Louis University since June 2010. As an undergraduate student at SLU, I was University Ambassador.

What do you enjoy most about your work as an admissions counselor at Saint Louis University?
My favorite part of working in admission at SLU is giving other students the opportunity to have the same amazing experience that SLU gave to me as a student.

Where is your favorite spot on SLU's campus?
My favorite spots on campus are the ponds near the John Cook School of Business. On a sunny day it is a great place to relax and even take a quick nap.

What is your favorite restaurant (or entertainment venue) near SLU's campus that you recommend to students and their families?
My favorite restaurant near SLU is Triumph Grill. The food is great and it has a really cool motorcycle shop attached to it.

What did you study as an undergraduate?
I graduated from SLU in 2010 with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Studies and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies.

Other than those regarding financial aid, what are the most common questions you receive from prospective students and their families, and how do you respond?
The most common question I get from my students/families is whether or not SLU is affordable. I always tell these students that through a combination of scholarships and our generous financial aid packages, SLU can be a reality for many students regardless of income level. It is important to not cross SLU off the list for financial reasons before receiving an aid package from us. I encourage my students to look at a SLU education as a true investment in a successful future.

Also, I am often asked about the importance of living on campus as a transfer student. If it is financially feasible, living on campus is truly the best way to fully immerse yourself in a SLU education. You will maximize the benefit of our vibrant campus life and our strong community by living on campus. SLU will become your new home.
