Judging Process

1. Nominees will be solicited through a public announcement, as well as announcements through Saint Louis University communications outlets. These nominees will be included in a screening pool to select semi-finalists in each category.

2. The deans of the colleges of Saint Louis University will be asked for one nominee. These nominees will be included in the appropriate semi-finalist group.

3. A blue-ribbon judging panel will review the materials on the semi-finalists and give their decision for a winner in each category by a majority vote. The decision of the judges will be final.

4. The blue-ribbon judging panel will be selected under the direction of the Coleman Chair in Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University.

5. An event will be held to celebrate the six category winners and publicly announce the winner of the Saint Louis University Smurfit-Stone Entrepreneurial Alumni of the Year award during Homecoming weekend.

6. The six category winners will have their names and story placed in the University’s Smurfit-Stone Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame Wall (as well as through other possible promotional outlets) to serve as an inspiration to others at Saint Louis University and the larger community.
