National Education Groups Tap SLU Educator as Missouri’s ‘Professor of the Year’
Rebecca Kuntz Willits, Ph.D., associate professor of biomedical engineering at Saint Louis University, has been named Missouri's "Professor of the Year" by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

SLU Recognized as a National Leader in Awarding Graduate Degrees to Minority Students
Saint Louis University has again been recognized as a leader in providing educational opportunities to minority and underrepresented students. The national magazine Diverse -- Issues In Higher Education, formerly known as Black Issues in Higher Education, has ranked Saint Louis University among the country's top 100 in producing graduate degrees to students of color.

Eye on Energy: SLU Seeks ‘Green’ Status for New Research Building
Saint Louis University’s new biomedical Research Building could become the largest facility of its kind in the St. Louis area to earn a “green” designation from the U.S. Green Building Council, a leading non-profit group dedicated to sustainable building design and construction.

PlanetSpace Unveils New Orbital Vehicle Inspired by Saint Louis University Professor
On Thursday, Dec. 15, a noted Saint Louis University aerospace engineer and an X-Prize contender will unveil their plans for a space vehicle that one day could take commercial passengers into orbit and service the International Space Station.

Fraternity’s $10K brick donation gives it permanent place at Arena
Sixty-nine members of the Kappa Delta Rho (KDR) fraternity are helping pave the way toward the success of the Saint Louis University Arena. Fraternity members recently presented the University with a check for $10,000. Their donation, a response to the Billiken Bricks program, will be recognized with a paver located in Recognition Plaza.

ATHLETICS
CCIN Televises SLU Men's and Women's Hoops
Charter Communications and the Saint Louis University department of athletics have begun their live telecasts of men's and women's basketball. Charter Communications Information Network (CCIN) is broadcasting nine men's road games and five home dates. CCIN will also produce two women's games from the Bauman-Eberhardt Center on campus.

Men's Basketball Signs Recruit
Saint Louis University head men's basketball coach Brad Soderberg has announced that 6-foot-5 guard Dustin Maguire has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University and play basketball for the Billikens. He will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2006-07 academic year.

Women's Basketball Players Commit to SLU
Saint Louis University head women's basketball coach Shimmy Gray announced that Theresa Lisch, Maggie Hennegan and Katie Paganelli have signed National Letters of Intent to attend the University and play basketball for the Billikens. All three will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2006-07 season.

Volleyball Player Named Honorable Mention All-Region
Junior outside hitter Tatyana Menshikova has been named to the 2005 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Northeast Region honorable mention team.

Stuber Named To Atlantic 10 Cross Country All-Academic Team
The Atlantic 10 Conference has named sophomore runner Mat Stuber to the A-10 Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference squad. Stuber is in the University's aviation science/professional pilot program.

Seven Members of the Field Hockey Team Earn All-Conference Honors
Seven members of the Saint Louis University field hockey team have been named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team. The teams were announced after a vote conducted by the league's coaches.
