characterize what we do in our
various apostolates in only one way.
Our goal for the men and women we serve
considers not just what they might do
in and with their lives, but, more importantly, the kinds
of people they might become, regardless of their career…
From the many possibilities available, suffice it to
say that at Saint Louis University,

To those ends, we invite our alumni, students, faculty,
administrators and staff to participate in numerous opportunities
and resources, on and off campus, to deepen and continue
the values and activities they began at the University,

Students for Life at SLU
Students for Life is a SLU student organization committed
to promoting the fundamental right to life at Saint Louis
University. Complicit with the teachings of the Catholic
Church regarding the dignity of all human life from conception
to natural death, SFL aspires to educate, inform, and
engage the Saint Louis University community.
Nationally recognized for its Pro-Life activities, programs,
and leadership, Students for Life's newest endeavor is
to reach out to fellow students and the surrounding community
by offering vital assistance to women dealing with crisis
pregnancy or past abortions.
The Pregnant and Parenting Student Assistance
Fund, funded by the Virginia D. Murphy
Endowment, is founded on the principle that no
student should ever have to choose between having a child
and having an education. In less than one year, SFL has
exceeded its initial fundraising goal of $25,000.
At Crescendo, a special Jazz reception on October 9th,
2009, the organization announced that with the endowment
and other fundraising efforts by the organization, financial
support is now available to pregnant and parenting students.
The assistance fund chair also publicly set a new goal
of being able to provide more than $10,000 per year within
five years.
In addition to financial support from friends, family,
and alumni, SFL continues to raise funds and awareness
through the annual spring 5K run/walk, Run for Their Lives,
and selling concessions at Chaifetz Arena.
