"Students, in the course of their formation, must
let the gritty reality of this world into their lives,
so they can learn to feel it, think about it critically,
respond to its suffering and engage it constructively.
They should learn to perceive, think, judge, choose and
act for the rights of others, especially the disadvantaged
and the oppressed."
~ Rev. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, S.J.

Alumni join two Jesuit Volunteer Corps groups
Some Saint Louis University alumni are giving up a year
of their lives and giving themselves over to the Jesuit
mission of service.
Five recent SLU grads are joining the newly merged Jesuit
Volunteer Corps (JVC), while another six have committed
to serving with the sister organization JVC Northwest.
The alumni have embarked on a year or more of full-time
service that will take them all over the United States
and to a couple of foreign countries. A complete list
