Chemistry Honor Society Comes to SLU
The national chemistry honor society Gamma Sigma Epsilon will induct new members into its new SLU chapter Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Saint Louis University Chemistry Club announces the arrival of Upsilon Gamma, a local chapter of the national chemistry honor society Gamma Sigma Epsilon.
SLU's Upsilon Gamma chapter will join a network of more than 70 chapters in 25 states. Its mission is to recognize outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional ability and interest in the field of chemistry.
Working in conjunction with Saint Louis University's American Chemical Society Student Chapter, or Chemistry Club, the society aims to promote professionalism and scholarship in chemistry and the general welfare of its members, school and community.
Together, the two organizations will host a number of chemistry-related service and social events throughout the year.
The society welcomes chemistry and non-chemistry majors alike. The induction ceremony is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Pere Marquette Gallery.
A representative from the national executive committee will be in attendance to install the chapter.
