Apply Now for Fall 2012 Tuition Exchange Program
It is time to apply for the tuition exchange program for fall 2012. This program enables selected children of Saint Louis University employees who are eligible for dependent tuition remission benefits to apply for a tuition exchange program scholarship at any of the over 600 tuition exchange program participating colleges and universities. For a complete listing of participating institutions, visit the Tuition Exchange Program web site here.
The tuition exchange program requires that each member institution maintain a balance between the outgoing dependents, or "exports," from SLU and the incoming students, or "imports," it accepts from other member institutions.
To apply for "export" certification consideration, SLU employees must submit the Tuition Exchange Program Scholarship Application to SLU's benefits office. Click here for the application and procedure information.
The deadline for application submission is 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, for the award year that begins with the fall 2012 semester. If your dependent is currently receiving this benefit, you must recertify in February each year prior to the March 1 deadline for recertification.
To be eligible for certification for a tuition exchange program scholarship, the employee and child must meet the requirements for dependent tuition remission at SLU and the requirements of the tuition exchange program. In addition, the dependent must satisfy the admissions requirements of the participating institutions. Therefore, the program should not be considered an automatic benefit or entitlement.
In the event that more eligible employees apply for the program than can be certified in a given year, the length of service at Saint Louis University will be the factor utilized to make the awards. Eligible applicants with the longest continuous full-time service at SLU will be certified first for the tuition exchange program.
In the case of employees applying who have the same service date, a tie will be broken by a lottery system. If an eligible employee presently has one dependent receiving the tuition exchange program scholarship, additional dependents will be rank ordered below the last eligible applicant until the sibling's slot becomes available.

Please be advised that the Tuition Exchange Program is being made available in addition to the existing Faculty and Staff Children Exchange Program, FACHEX, and application for each program must be made separately. Information regarding FACHEX, as well as the application can be found here.
