Twelve students were awarded fellowships for the 2013-2014 academic year by the Office of Graduate Education. The fellowships carry a stipend, tuition scholarship and health insurance benefits for 11 months.

The recipients of the fellowships are:

  • Diversity Fellowships: David Githinji (political science), Ana Hernandez (psychology), Ethan Shavers (integrated and applied sciences) and Tandra Taylor (American studies).
  • Presidential Fellowships: Lisa Andes (earth and atmospheric sciences) and Lauryn Swier (biomedical sciences).
  • Dissertation Fellowships: Asmira Alagic (chemistry), Errin Clark (philosophy), Jason Fossella (history), Laura Hardebeck (chemistry), Jonathan Lux (English), Joshua Mather (history) and Aaron Shilling (psychology).

Diversity and Presidential fellowships are funded for up to four years if a student remains in good standing, and Dissertation Fellowships are one-year awards.

Full-time first year graduate students in any program are eligible for nomination for the award by their home department. Faculty committees for each fellowships evaluate the applications and make recommendations for funding.
