Drewes, Gus' sale to Benefit Helping Our Own

Frozen custard and pretzels will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at multiple locations throughout the St. Louis campus.

Back by popular demand, "A Taste of Summer" returns. Helping Our Own will again offer employees a taste of summer at its annual University-wide Ted Drewes frozen custard and Gus' pretzels sale Thursday, June 27. Cups of Drewes frozen custard and Gus' pretzels will be sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. across campus while supplies last.

Sales site will be in the Learning Resources Center, at the front desk of the School of Nursing Building, in front of the gift shop in the SLU Hospital, the quad outside of Walsh Hall, inside the north entrance of Busch Student Center, and by mobile salespersons. In case of rain, the sales will be moved to nearby overhangs.

Pre-sale orders are encouraged. Indicate the number and flavor of frozen custard cups and the number of pretzels desired and submit pre-sale orders by noon Friday, June 21, to Cathy Zimmer at zimmercm@slu.edu. Advance orders received from individuals and departments in Salus Center and the Marvin and Harlene Wool Center will be delivered there for distribution.

Frozen custard cups will come in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, and sell for $3 each. Pretzels will sell for $1 each.

The Helping Our Own program helps the University help our own, and provides an important one-time monetary grant to any full-time or part-time employee experiencing an unexpected financial crisis. It is funded by University employee payroll pledges, gifts and fundraisers.
