Saint Louis University

Information Technology Services has formed a Strategic Technology Planning Committee to develop a 2020 technology vision for the University. The vision will assist University leaders and ITS in aligning future technology investments to areas that will make the highest impact to our students, faculty, staff, researchers, physicians and patients.

The committee is led by David Hakanson, vice president and CIO, and includes representatives from SGA, the Staff Advisory Committee, the Faculty Senate, Enrollment and Retention Management, Advancement, Mission and Ministry, SLU Madrid, Student Development and Academic Affairs. There are also members to represent physicians, researchers and deans.

The strategic technology planning process will include a series of committee meetings over spring. The committee will focus on how information technology can be used to further the strategic objectives of the University. The primary deliverable of the Strategic Technology Planning Committee is a vision statement with a set of three to five goals. This information will then be used by the IT community to develop two three-year technology plans that include operational tactics, with established measures of success, for achievement of the goals set forth in the plan.

Further information regarding the strategic technology plan will be communicated in the upcoming months through Newslink, open forums with Hakanson and the ITS website.
