Saint Louis University

Customers using Internet Explorer (IE) to access Google Apps (e-mail, calendar, sites, etc.), may have noticed an alert in their account that SLU's version of IE will soon be unsupported by Google. As a result, some Google Apps functions may not work properly in IE. To insure all features are accessible, ITS will be advertising Google Chrome to all computers the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 6, and it will now be the preferred browser for Google Apps. Effective, Friday, Nov. 9, Chrome will be installed on all PCs and Google Apps will only be supported by the Service Desks in Chrome.

SLU's versions of IE and Firefox cannot be updated further at this time because many applications across campus only work in those current versions. Chrome on the other hand will be updated automatically and allow SLU customers to take full advantage of Google Apps without worrying about outdated versions causing service issues.

Customers should continue to use all other applications in IE or Firefox as normal. Google Apps will be the only application supported in Chrome.
