ITS to Upgrade, Improve Billiken Print System

The system will be unavailable for use for brief periods of time during the upgrade process beginning Friday, July 26.

Improvements to the Billiken Print system will begin Friday, July 26. Printing services on Billiken Print will be unavailable from 12:30 to 2 p.m. that day. The system will be taken down completely at 9 a.m. Monday, July 29, and sending and releasing print jobs will not be available during the upgrade.

The system will be brought up in stages starting with computer labs with Billiken Print Release Stations attached, the libraries and then moving to classrooms that have the ability to send print jobs to the system beginning at 2 p.m. Monday.

To use the upgraded system on personal computers, customers will need to remove the old Billiken Print program and will need to install the new software. Visit the ITS Software Downloads page after Friday, Aug. 2, to obtain the new software. The downloads page will also provide instructions on how to uninstall the old software and install the new version.

Billiken Print is the pay-per-print service allowing students, faculty and staff to print from their personal computers, computer labs or classroom labs to one of the 18 networked printers on campus. Customers of the service must use Billiken Bucks to pay for all copy and print jobs, which cost 10 cents per black and white page and 35 to 55 cents per page for color.

Locations include but are not limited to all three University libraries, room 27 in the Allied Health Professions Building, room 137 in Busch Student Center, room 2030 of McDonnell Douglas Hall and room 114 of the School of Nursing Building.
