New Online Collaboration, Video-Conferencing Tool Announced

As part of the Real-Time Virtual Classroom/Web Conferencing Project, a new tool for online collaboration and video-conferencing has been selected. The new product, Fuze Meeting, will replace Wimba Classroom effective Jan. 14. Note that this will not replace other available tools such as SLU Global (Blackboard) or Tegrity.

Existing Wimba Classroom content will not be retained as ITS moves forward with the release of Fuze Meeting. Instructors or Course Builders in SLU Global courses that have Wimba Classroom content should download any content they'd like to save for reuse.

Instructions on how to generate downloadable .MP4/.M4V files of your Wimba Archives can be found on the ITS website. The instructions also provide options for storing and reusing downloaded Wimba archives.

Wimba Voice Tools customers will receive a separate communication regarding the future of Voice Tools.

Anyone interested in learning more about Fuze Meeting for online collaboration should review the Fuze Meeting User Support information.

For any questions or assistance, contact the IT Service Desk at 314-977-4000 or visit the ITS website for a complete listing of service desk locations and contact information.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
