Volunteers Needed for Nutrition Counseling Experience
Senior dietetic students will provide individualized nutrition counseling sessions in order to improve their skills.
Senior dietetic students are in need of volunteers to participate in an individualized nutrition counseling session. These students, as part of their course work, are required to counsel individuals from the community to improve their counseling skills. All sessions will be videotaped for the purpose of reviewing the student's counseling skills.
Counseling will be conducted in room 2051 of the Allied Health Professions Building. Each counseling session will last 45-60 minutes.
Volunteers will receive an individualized meal plan, computer analysis of their three-day diet and a motivational interviewing nutrition counseling session provided by a dietetic student.
Participants' commitment involves recording what they eat for three consecutive days, filling out a diet history form and coming to their session.
Anyone interested in this counseling opportunity should call the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at 314-977-8523 or email Danielle Mach at firstname.lastname@example.org with preferred appointment times, phone number and email address. Sessions include:
