SLU to Plant Trees in Celebration of City's Anniversary

The University and Forest ReLeaf of Missouri will plant a tree for every point the men's basketball team scores as part of yearlong festivities in honor of the founding of St. Louis.

Saint Louis University and the Billikens have partnered with Forest ReLeaf of Missouri to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of St. Louis.

As part of the festivities, the University will plant a tree for every point scored by the men's basketball team during the last four games of the season. Game dates are Feb. 15, Feb. 22, Feb. 27 and March 5.

Up to 250 trees will be planted at Saint Louis University and in the surrounding community this year by Saint Louis University volunteers. A few of the places receiving trees include Accent on Success, Blumeyer Community Center, Caroline Mission, Community Against Women in Hardship, Guardian Angel Resettlement Association and St. Louis Housing Authority.

Forest ReLeaf accomplishes its mission through a variety of tree-planting and education programs. For more information, visit moreleaf.org.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
