University Celebrates 'Campus Sustainability Day'

Join SLU in recognizing the successes, challenges and innovation of sustainability taking place at the University.

SLUstainabilityOct. 23 is the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's National Campus Sustainability Day. The day is a time to recognize the successes, challenges and innovation of sustainability in higher education on campus.

In honor of Campus Sustainability Day, Saint Louis University is releasing its second annual Campus Sustainability report. This report covers the highlights of successes that have occurred over the past year put together by the Division of Facilities Services and the Center for Sustainability.

Highlights of the report include:

  • Introduction of the Sustainability Advisory Council
  • The Center for Sustainability earning the Star Circle of Excellence from the RCGA for its sustainability efforts
  • SLU being recognized as a 2012 Tree Campus USA
  • The Center for Sustainability announcing a new director and faculty
  • Achieving a 23 percent waste diversion rate from campus recycling efforts
