University Hosts Inaugural Program G.R.A.D.

The Office of Graduate Education will host the Inaugural Program G.R.A.D. (Graduate Recruitment for Achieving Diversity), Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 8-10.

Program G.R.A.D. is a recruitment weekend to identify underrepresented college juniors who are interested in attending graduate school and invite them to campus for a workshop and visit with programs. The purpose of the program is to increase diversity among the graduate student population at Saint Louis University. Program G.R.A.D. partnered with College Bound-St. Louis, Eastern Illinois University-McNair Scholars, and SLU's McNair and African American Male Initiative programs to recruit students.

Graduate Education received $500 for the second place submission for the Educational Testing Service and Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Award for Excellence and Innovation in Graduate Education, to initiate Program G.R.A.D.
