Creative and Professional Writing (Minor)

This six-course, interdisciplinary program invites you to draw upon classes in both English and communication to gain practical training in writing poetry, fiction, essays, journalism and screenplays.

Saint Louis University's minor in creative and professional writing also offers business-oriented courses in corporate communication, professional writing, editing and advertising.

Offered through SLU's Department of English in collaboration with the Department of Communication, the creative and professional writing minor is open to students from all majors. Students studying communication or English frequently complete this minor.

Several internship possibilities are available to students minoring in creative and professional writing at SLU, including opportunities in journalism, advertising and public relations.
