Molly Loughran, a junior Public Health student, will present on the Cuban government's effective and long-lasting response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic which has allowed the country to boast the lowest HIV prevalence in the Caribbean at 0.03%, one-eleventh of the prevalence recorded in the United States. She will outline the components of the Cuban health care system that supported their HIV/AIDS effort and discuss how the United States can take away lessons from this methodology. The College of Public Health and Social Justice and the University Honors Program sponsor this event.
