Returning from Third World Immersion Experiences: Living in Solidarity

Mev Puleo Scholars: Perry Cole, senior Theological Studies and Political Science major, Christine Wanzeck, senior Speech Pathology major, Michael Finocchiaro, senior Theological Studies, Urban Affairs, and Criminal Justice major, Owen Needham, senior English major, and Teresa Wink, junior Nursing major.

The Mev Puleo scholars will share some of their stories from their summer spent in Nicaragua and lead a discussion on the idea of solidarity. They will address issues including how we are called to live in solidarity with members of the SLU community, the greater St. Louis community, and the rest of the world, and how we are called as SLU students to live and strive for justice. The Puleo scholars will attempt to engage in a dialogue in which all experience and insight on the topic are welcome. The scholars will also provide insight from both their experience in Nicaragua and their adjustments to life as SLU students since their return.

Higher purpose. Greater good.
