Anyone who has a cell phone or a laptop computer is inadvertently, innocently helping to fuel the deadliest war in the world since World War II, in which over five million people have lost their lives in Congo. The primary driver of conflict there is the violent contest for control of the mines that produce minerals used to power our electronic products. John Prendergast will discuss solutions to this conflict, and how students hold a significant key to peace in the Congo given their power as consumers.
