It’s Not Too Late to Apply: Learn About SLU’s Rolling Admissions Policy
When it comes to applying to college, it can pay to be early — literally. At Saint
Louis University, students are encouraged to apply by Dec. 1 because it gives them
priority consideration for scholarships. But if you've missed the deadline, don't
worry! You can still apply, thanks to our rolling admission policy.
While there are lots of scholarships and financial awards available for first-time freshmen at SLU — more than 10 based on academic merit,
talents, service, leadership and financial need alone — students who apply before
Dec. 1 are considered first when award offers are made.
What If I Miss the Dec. 1 Deadline?
Students who miss the deadline can still apply to go to SLU. Unlike some schools that
focus on early decision or early action, SLU has a rolling admission policy, giving you a large window of time to apply. Admission decisions at SLU are made
as applications are received, so you don't have to wait for a certain date to find
out if you're in.
Even so, if you can meet the Dec. 1 deadline, you should — especially if scholarships and financial aid are part of how you hope
to pay for college.
How Do I Apply For Scholarships at SLU?
Applying for scholarships at SLU is easy. You are eligible for the Billiken, Ignatian, University, Deans' and Vice
Presidents' Scholarships just by filling out the University admission application.
The Presidential and Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarships require a separate application,
but you can complete them from right within SLU's application portal.
Only SLU's Presidential Scholarship — a chance at a four-year, full-tuition award
— requires that candidates submit all their materials by Dec. 1. The application deadline
for SLU's Jesuit Community Scholarship deadline is Jan. 15, and the deadline for the
Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship is Feb. 1.
