I am a legacy student (my mom is a Saint Louis University graduate), an MLK Scholar, and I plan to major in secondary political science/history education. I was born and raised right here in the St. Louis metro and graduated from Pattonville High School. I am so excited to begin the next chapter of my life at SLU and connect with so many fellow Billikens! In 2018, I co-authored a chapter in the book Designing Successful Systems: Stories of Change, covering the Pattonville School District’s journey towards creating equitable systems to enable all students to achieve at high levels. I am super passionate about politics and social justice movements. My hope is to engage these passions by working towards creating equitable systems that will assist in liberating historically marginalized and disenfranchised communities from generations of systemic inequities.
Why I Chose SLU
My absolute favorite thing here at SLU is the people. When I was on the infamous college search, I visited institutions all over the country. However, it was when I walked onto campus for MLK Weekend that I knew that SLU was destined to be home for my next chapter. It was the tight-knit community feel that SLU offered where "no one is a stranger," reminiscent of the cultural atmosphere at my high school, that led me to make a decision I have no regret about, becoming a Billiken! #God Bless, Go Bills!
SLU Insider Tip
Go to office hours! It is critical to developing relationships with your professors, not just because it is beneficial to receive one-on-one academic support but because it is also really cool to get to know faculty outside of the classroom and develop meaningful connections.

Hands-On Experience at SLU
I have engaged in field experiences by observing classrooms throughout the St. Louis region for my School of Education courses, including Foundations of Education, Portfolio Development I and Growth Development and Learning.
Serving the Greater Good
I will be assisting this year with the Winter Shelter on campus at Manresa Retreat Center that was spearheaded by a group of pioneering students last year, who saw the need to provide an inclusive environment for individuals in need of a warm place to stay on bitterly cold winter days. What is unique about the Winter Shelter is that it is an inclusive space for People of Color and those in the LGBTQ+ community, and it aims to keep families united in the space.
What else should you know about me?
I'm a news junkie that loves keeping a pulse on current events as well as with what's new on campus. On top of that, I love traveling (One of my bucket list goals is to visit all 50 states and all 7 continents), dancing terribly and checking out the many excellent attractions around St. Louis. In my free time, I enjoy reading literary classics, soaking in the natural beauty that SLU's campus has to offer, and binge-watching shows on Netflix (How basic of me?) :)
