I have a Specialist certification in Microbiology and have worked on the bench and/or taught this discipline for almost 40 years. For the last two years, I have been interviewed numerous times on TV and the radio, for newspaper and magazine articles and by reporters from numerous web sites. I work closely with the University's Media specialists to prepare "Tip Sheets" and contribute to other public relations activities and events.

Research Interests
Using routine culture techniques and organism identification procedures to evaluate the presence of bacteria especially those which result in food borne illnesses; educational topics such as how to implement instructional strategies such as "flipped classroom" into our courses.
